Garena has launched Garena introduced the Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a 6 month professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. GPL's debut season will feature six teams made up of professionally-trained League of Legends players. The teams are made up of the top players in their respective nations. Garena's Sports stadium, a place dedicated to esports in the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on November 14 in 2014. The facility was built to host games from the League of Legends Masters Series which is the most prestigious LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league. It was an offshoot of GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League the first women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. This is a bimonthly affair that takes place in the second halves of each month. It is designed to promote participation among people who aren't represented, and is for anyone who self-identifies as a female.
